I love giving gift cards for little presents….you know the person receiving them can use them and this way they can get exactly what they want or need!
Today I decided to make a special holder to put a card in. I love using watercolor pencils to color in my stamps. You can find a video on the technique I use at the end of this post.

Adorable Bear Punch Board Gift Card Holder
I started with a piece of designer paper 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.
Place your paper in the punch board at 2-3/8″, punch and score.
Turn the paper 45° and put the pointer on the score line, punch and score.
On the 3rd side place your paper at 2-3/8″ again, punch and score, then on the 4th side place your pointer on the score line, punch but DO NOT score. Your paper should look like this when done. I’ve drawn a line on the score lines.
The top is the corner that is not scored. Place all 4 corners in the rounder of your punch board and round off.
Using a paper punch put a hole in this tab.
Fold your piece on the score lines as shown.
Fold in the bottom first, and then the sides and glue or tape them closed forming your pocket.
Then I stamped the design onto white cardstock using my new Tim Holtz Stamping Platform which I’m finding awesome! The design was made from the Teddy Bear Stamp from Rubbernecker Stamps, which I colored in with colored pencils using the technique in the video below.
The technique for coloring the image can be seen in this video.
Using the matching die I ran the bear through my Big Shot.
Cut a piece of black cardstock 2-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ for the background.
Cut a piece of designer paper 2″ x 2-1/2″ and adhere it to the background.
Adhere your stamped design to the front and tie a ribbon through the hole in the top and tie a bow and glue to the front. Your card holder is ready to fill and give!
