CC Designs Cinammon and Reindeer Clear Card Tutorial

Love these clear cards!  I saw this stamp from CC Designs called Cinnamon and Reindeer and knew it would make a great clear card!  Todays craft time included a nice cup of cocoa to keep the chill out and a nice relaxing few hours to myself in my crafting palace…with my dog Rocko to keep me company!

Your card will measure 5″ x 7″.
Cut a piece of white cardstock 5″ x 7″.  I used Distress Oxide to make the background of the card – I started by inking the top with Faded Jeans, then did the bottom using Frayed Burlap.

The technique we used to create the background can be found in this video.

Next I glued on a few stars for a starry night using star confetti.

Cut a piece of white cardstock to stamp the design on.  This design is from CC Designs called Cinnamon and Reindeer

I colored the stamp using my watercolor pencils blended with mineral oil.

Here are the items we use for the colored pencil technique:
Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Soft Core, 72 Count
Gamblin Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits Bottle, 4.2oz
Blending Tortillions (Dozen) Small

The technique for coloring the image can be seen in this video.

Adhere the colored piece to the background of the card, centered and about 1-1/4″ up from the bottom.  Then I stamped Merry Christmas onto it using Lawn Fawns Toboggan Together stamp set.

Cut a piece of clear plastic 5″ x 7″.

Cut a piece of designer paper 5″ x 2″ and score at 1″, and another at 5″ x 3″ scored 1″ in from one side.  I used a word paper from Echo Park A Perfect Christmas.

Fold the bigger piece over and adhere the smaller side to the back top of the background piece.  Be sure the words are facing the right direction.

Lay your clear plastic piece on top of the background piece matching up all sides, apply adhesive to the back of the designer piece and fold it over onto the plastic piece to form your hinge.

Take the other piece of scored designer paper and apply adhesive to the whole back, fold it over the bottom plastic piece and adhere it.

The Fence

To make the fence for the front I cut 4 strips of medium brown cardstock 1/2″ x 4″.
I roughed up the edges using my Tim Holtz paper distresserCC Designs Cinammon and Reindeer Clear Card Tutorial
I then ran then through my wood grain embossing folder.

I used black soot distress oxide to dab over the top of the pieces.

Then I adhered them to the front of the card as shown.
