Flap Treat Box Tutorial – 2 Crafty Little Sisters

The weekend finally arrived!  This week went by so slow at work, I had plenty to do but too many ideas floating around my head about the things I wanted to create.  I received a big box I had ordered from Scrapbook.com full of stamps and dies.  I just couldn’t wait for the weekend to play with my new toys!

 Flap Treat Box Tutorial

You’ll need an envelope punch board, I’ve added a link if you’d like to purchase one through our affiliate site Scrapbook.com.  Purchasing through our affiliate does not add anything to your cost and we receive a small commission which helps defray the costs of the supplies we use to create our tutorials.

Start with a 6″ x 6″ piece of double sided cardstock.
Place your cardstock at 1″ mark, punch and score.
Slide down to the 4″ mark, punch and score.
Turn the paper 180° and do the same on the opposite side of the paper.
Turn to the untouched side, match the pointer to the score lines and punch and score.
Repeat on the opposite side.

Your page should look like this, the dash lines are where you will need to cut up to the score line.

Turn your punch board and use the punch to round the corners.
Fold the four flaps to the outside and tape down.

Cut up the the score lines on the two flaps with the holes, I’ve indicated the cut lines with a dash line on the template.

Fold in the flaps as shown, and apply double sided tape.

Fold those in and adhere to the front and back sides.

Your box is now ready to decorate!
For the yellow box I punched a scallop circle out of white…
and two yellow flowers out of a flower punch.  I Used Colorbox chalk painters to accent the edges of the flowers.

Put an accent dot in the middle of the flower, adhere it to the scallop.
Fold a 3″ piece of ribbon at a 45° angle and adhere to the back of the flower.
Adhere to the front of the box.

For the blue box I punched a 1-1/2″ scallop edge piece, and a 1-1/4″ circle.  Stamped with a fun sentiment, I used the Yum stamp from BoBunny Everyday Icon stamps.

For the black box I threaded a coordinating color string through a button and glued it to the front.

Fill a 3×5 Clear Bags with your favorite candies, tie the top with a bow and its ready to give!
