Gerda Steiner Snow Angels Reindeer Slider Card

The weather is turning colder here in Minnesota and it puts me in the mood for projects from my favorite season….Christmas!  I decided this Snow Angel Reindeer would be just too fun on a slider card.  I created this card during my craft time today, I love using watercolor pencils to color in my stamps.  You can find a video on the technique I use at the end of this post.

You can find another tutorial using this same stamp set called Santa Wobble Card.

Gerda Steiner Snow Angels Reindeer Slider Card Tutorial

I started with a white card blank, 5-1/2″” x 4-1/4″
Then I cut a piece of white cardstock using my stitched rectangle die, approximately 5-1/4″ x 4″.
I used my craft mat to mix up distress oxide with water.  I dabbed broken china distress oxide onto the mat and spritzed it with water.  I dunked a paintbrush into it and spattered the droplets onto the piece.

I ran this through my bigshot using my slider die.

Using Broken China Disress Oxide I inked up the Merry Christmas stamp from Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together and stamped the front.

Then I took some  white cardstock and stamped the Snow Angel onto it using my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform which I’m finding awesome!

The design was made from Gerda Steiner Snow Angels and colored with watercolor pencils blended with mineral oil.

Here are the items we use for the colored pencil technique:
Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Soft Core, 72 Count
Gamblin Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits Bottle, 4.2oz
Blending Tortillions (Dozen) Small

The technique for coloring the image can be seen in this video.

I cut around my design using my Silhouette Cameo and Pixscan mat.  If you don’t have a silhouette you can fussy cut around the reindeer.
I took a dimensional foam piece and cut it into a circle that would fit into the slider slot.

I adhered this to a penny, put it over the slot and adhered the reindeer to it.

It helps to shake it back and forth a bit to round off the dimentional foam.

I took a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die and cut a hill out of white card stock.  Then I used  Broken China Disress Oxide to color the edges.

I adhered the hill to the card.
Using Broken China Disress Oxide I inked up the blowing wind stamp from Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together and stamped the front.

Using black ink I stamped the snowball pile and the little snowballs from Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together.  I used a little pom pom and dipped it into the  Broken China Disress Oxide ink, then colored the sides of the snowballs in the pile.

Next I ran some white cardstock through my bigshot using the small tree dies from Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Portrait.

Using Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink I dabbed the edges and then dabbed over the tree.

Glue the trees and snowballs to the front of the hill, then adhere this to the front of the card.

Flip your card front over and put 2 layers of double sided foam tape on it, then adhere to the card blank.

Your reindeer is ready to slide!!!  Stamp the inside with your favorite sentiment and its ready to give.
