Gift Bag Tutorial - 2 Crafty Little Sisters

Well the weather was poor today so it seemed like a good day to sneek off into my craft room and play with paper.  I have some little gifts for the ladies at work so I wanted to make a cute little bag to put them.  Just because I can LOL!

Todays technique is how to color with watercolor pencils…I used Gamsol Mineral Spirits to blend the pencil in for a shaded look.

Start with a 12″ x 12″ piece of cardstock.
Line your cardstock up at 1.5, punch and score.
Rotate and line your cardstock up at 3, punch and score.
Repeat to complete all 4 sides.
FLIP the cardstock OVER.
Repeat all 4 punch and scores again.
Join up the score lines as shown on the template, I’ve drawn them in so they are easier to see.

Cut up to the scorelines on the lines of the template.

Cut the flaps 1/2″ from the fold line and fold in.

Line the small flaps with double sided tape, fold up the front and back and adhere to form the bag.

Fold in 3 side tabs and adhere down.  Find the center of the side pieces and fold in to close the top of the bag.

Fold over the front flap and punch 2 holes in the top of the bag.

Thread ribbon through and tie a bow to the front of the bag.

Your bag is now ready to decorate!
Make 3 flower circles.  For each punch a scallop circle out of white…

and a blue one out of a flower punch.

Put an accent dot in the middle of the flower, adhere it to the scallop.

Adhere to the front of the bag.

For the orane bag adhere a magnet to the front of the bag where the flap comes down, and cover with a circle of paper.

Glue the other magnet to the flap, and glue a strip of ribbon over it leaving an end hanging below the flap point for a pull.  Tie a ribbon bow and glue to the point of the flap.

For decoration on this one I stamped a flower and stem from Daisy Daisy Stamp and cut set.  I colored them in with watercolor pencil and blended with Gamsol mineral spirits.
