Santa Card Tutorial

I started off by making a card blank from Kraft cardstock, 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded in half.

Next I cut a piece of red cardstock 5-1/4″x 4″, I shaded the edges with my ColorBox Chalk Queue Ink Pad, I used a dark brown to give it an antique effect.

I used my Tombow to adhere this to the front of the card, centered.
Next used a die to cut a piece of Kraft cardstock with stitches around the edges, approximately 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″, and a piece of red crdstock 1-1/2″ x 3″

Next I stamped the Santa onto a piece of white cardstock.  The stamp I used is made by Rubbernecker Stamps and called Santa with Present.
I colored the stamp with watercolor pencils and blended the color in with mineral spirits.

The technique I used can be seen on this video tutorial.

I used Snow Tex paint to color the white parts of the stamp, this gave my Santa a bit of dimension and a fun texture.

I fussy cut out the Santa, and glued him to the small red piece of cardstock.

I wrapped bakers twine around the small brown piece at the top and tied a bow to the front.

I glued the Santa piece to the front of this brown piece and glued this to the front of the card.

Next I used an oval die cut with stitches to cut out an oval approximately 1-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ and stamped it with a Christmas stamp.

I glued that to the center of the card and stamped the inside of the card with a christmas sentiment.
